          If you are missing one or more teeth and wish to eat your favorite foods, increase your chewing ability, and improve your appearance, speech, and self-esteem, then you are a candidate for dental implants. A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth and is made from surgical-grade titanium alloy (Ti 6Al-4V ELI) to exacting specifications. Initially, the implant is placed into the jawbone either immediately after the loss of a tooth, or after an extended period of time. If there is insufficient bone, various bone enhancing procedures can be performed prior to the implant placement. An abutment, which acts as a base for a prosthetic tooth replacement such as a crown, is inserted into the implant at the time of implant placement, or subsequently after a period of healing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

          In the past, dentists would try to keep or replace teeth with treatments such as root canals, bridges, and fixed or removable dentures. Unfortunately, a significant number of root canal treated teeth fail, bridges require that healthy adjacent teeth be cut down and removable dentures can often be unstable and require the use of sticky adhesives. Dental implants are a solution to these problems, and many of the concerns associated with natural teeth are eliminated, including dental decay.

           Full mouth rehabilitation case with raise bite and implants While waiting for the full mouth rehabilitation case:

1. Correct the long span bridge tooth number #16-#21(7 units) by Fixing, right 3 implants on tooth number #13,#14, and #15 and #25 On the left side to close the space.

2. Raise the bite by composite bonding for full mouth.

3. Wait 3 months for bone formation around the implants.
Then change to permanent restoration to porcelain and bridge in Next 3 months.

           Mr. Kevin Fleming, an american from KBR Baghdad, iraq, who came to bangkok dental spa with a lot of dental problems. The treatment was full mouth rehabilitation by raising the bite, 4 implants, molar root canals and intermediate prosthesis. It is all done in one week. Finally, he could fly back with happy smile. He plans to fly back to complete his treatment this coming december.

            The patient had a severe accident from the sport last 34 years. He claimed that he had a best reward as a beautiful denture. Now his beautiful denture became unsatisfied according to the severe bone resorption. He requested how to increase the retention for his lower ridge. We decided to fix 4 implants into the cortical plate. All process was done under local anesthesia in 2 hours. We used the high sterile technique by laser surgery to open the flap and stop bleeding. After treatment, he said he was surprised with the painless procedure, just only fatique at the facial muscle and no swelling. 2 tabs of pain killer and 1 week antibiotic was enoughed. After that he has to wait for the bone formation about 3 months before we proceed the prosthetic.

He will follow up treatment for the upper jaw with implant and new prosthesis.

            Patient wanted the permanent fixed restoration to correct his lower right edentulous space at #46-#47. He had periodontal problem on #45 indicated by poor crown/root ratio.
